Get to know an international student at ESU by becoming a conversation partner!
The Intensive English program is seeking individuals willing to spend one hour each week having an informal conversation with an international student. The conversation partners program pairs international students that are learning English with fluent English speakers for casual conversation. In addition to building friendships, the goal of the program is to give the students a chance to practice using spoken English in a relaxed setting, as well as to further intercultural communication and understanding on campus.
Partners meet for one hour each week, throughout the semester. The partners choose a time and public place to meet that is convenient for them both. During meetings, the conversation partners have a casual chat about topics that are interesting to them.
Students, faculty, and staff are welcome. All fluent English speakers are welcome to be a conversation partner. You do not have to be a native speaker of English.
For more information or to become a conversation partner, contact the Intensive English Program at firstname.lastname@example.org .
