Information is an important asset and it is our university's mission to protect it from unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure. Policies and procedures have been established to inform users of the acceptable use of technology on campus and guide campus community members in the secure use of information, while keeping practicality and job functionality in mind. Security IT policies can be found here.
Information is a shared asset and therefore needs to be protected with shared responsibility. In August 2016, the IT Security team launched a new Security Awareness Campaign with the slogan "Protect the Nest." The aim of this campaign is to provide campus community members with helpful tips regarding password security, avoiding phishing scams, backing up data and much more. Our view is that information security is personally affecting everyone and it should be fun to learn about!
Our goal is to engage with the campus community as much as possible. The IT Security team is always happy to give presentations or host workshops for your class, department or organization.
